We go so soaked by these sleazeballs! We moved from Oshawa to Calgary October 2005 They quoted us their “special winter rate” which was $0.67/lb, I had been quoted elsewhere at $0.75 to $0.99 so it sounded good. They arranged for pick up and held our stuff for 5 days before hitting the road-they said it was to get us our winter rate-they had to wait until Nov 1. I think they charged us storage fees-which was never part of the contract. We were quoted $2300 for the move, before taxes / fees . I was expecting it to be maybe another 6-700 bucks after all the fees and taxes were added.
Finally, 10 days later, after sleeping for a week on an IKEA couch we had to buy because we had no furniture, they arrived wanted almost $9000!!!! we freaked & called the Toronto office-thankfully it was open. Out of the kindness of their (ahem) hearts they shaved it down to $6900 but they refused to unload until we presented a CERTIFIED CHEQUE (an extra $20 for the bank to do) for the full amount!! We were lucky the bank was open!
What if it was a saturday afternoon-would they have held our stuff prisioner for their ransom until Monday? I shudder at the thought and i am grateful that they did not have my antique table, among other valuables, hostage for long. We were short a box of kitchen stuff so i had to buy a new coffee maker, toaster, pans and various containers and serving utensils. This simply was a disgusting experience with a greasy, greasy company. They should have been run out of business YEARS ago! It soured our feeling of excitement about being in a new city, new life. I am still stewing-can you tell…

In the winter of 2005 my 80 year old parents booked Prince Movers to move them from the home they had resided in for over 40 years. These losers arrived, and suddenly decided the road was to slippery in front of there house to stop? to our amazement, they just drove away! This was MOVING day, the house had been sold, and all the furniture and belonging had to go that day! Everything was boxed and ready, so we had to scramble to find another company short notice! SCUM BAG of a company.

Whenever a removalist attempts blackmail or damages property, call the police. I understand that felonies require long custodial sentences.
